About the artist

Tosca van Oorschot, is a sculptor, born in Amsterdam in 1965. She makes dynamic golf sculptures that can be used as a golf award, golf gift or as an art object. The lower body is figurative and the upper body is abstract or vice versa, depending on what is depicted. As many details are omitted, making the result special and exciting and allowing the viewer to use their imagination. 

She has been making dynamic golf sculptures since 2004.

The beginning

Her first golf sculpture came about by chance, it was the result of a commission.

It was from this assignment that she got the inspiration for creating other sculptures. 

"That first assignment stimulated my interest in the golf theme. I didn't have any connection with golf prior to that. Making that sculpture was the start of my extensive golf collection," said Tosca

" My sculptures exude strength and dynamism! Which is also the biggest challenge. In order to achieve this I studied many photos and video clips of players. I've always had the notion that golf was quite static but as a result of my studies and subsequently playing golf myself, I realised that I was wrong."

Her work started to appeal to golfers and golf clubs, as a result that she made the Golf Awards for the Dutch Golf Federation. Bronsbeeld NGF Golf Gala

Greatest moments

"In my series "Greatest Moment", the emphasis is on the golfers expressions following a good strike. I magnify that expression. I use Neolith as material for my sculptures, it's a type of synthetic material with marble dust."
